In SPILL choreographiert Ton Bogataj Intimitäten in Form des band-Werdens und gründet gemeinsam mit drei Tänzer*innen und einer:m Musiker:in eine Softboyband. CARE ist zentrales Element dieser queeren Fürsorgegemeinschaft bei der „loving and being loved“ oder auch “reminding each other of who we are” die geflüsterten Codeworte sind. Das Überschäumen von Gefühlen wird zur Performance-Praxis, die das Format „Boyband“ in einen multidisziplinären Zugang zu Choreographie verwandelt, der sich ungehemmt in die Disziplinen Tanz, Text, Sound und Fürsorge ergießt.
An vier Abenden bewegt sich das Publikum durch den Proberaum der Band und erlebt sie dort in intimer Atmosphäre ‚behind the scenes‘. Hier üben die Bandmitglieder ausufernde Liebesgeständnisse, schmachtende Tanzeinlagen und waghalsige Popsong Covers, die mitten ins Herz gehen. Mit kritischem Blick und sanfter Geste fluten sie die Bühne mit ganz eigenen Gefühlen und Sehnsüchten – cause they want it that way.

In SPILL, Ton Bogataj choreographs intimacies in the form of becoming a band and founds a softboy band together with three dancers. CARE is the central element of this queer caring community in which “loving and being loved” or “reminding each other of who we are” are the whispered code words. The effervescence of feelings becomes a performance practice that transforms the “boy band” format into a multidisciplinary approach to choreography that spills uninhibitedly into the disciplines of dance, text, sound, and caring.
Over the course of four evenings, the audience moves through the band’s rehearsal space, where they experience them ‘behind the scenes’ in an intimate atmosphere. The band members practice sprawling confessions of love, languorous dance numbers and daring pop song covers that go straight to the heart. With a critical eye and gentle gestures, they flood the stage with their very own feelings and longings – because they want it that way.
